WASHINGTON (CNN) – The Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington said goodbye to a beloved resident Thursday.
Veterinarians at the zoo euthanized Shera, an African lion.
Though the loss saddened staffs, Shera lived a long life for a lion at 21 years.
