EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -The Eau Claire County Conservation Congress encourages the community to give input at a Monday night in-person hearing.
The Eau Claire County Conservation Congress is an advisory group of delegates who serve as a liaison between the county and state regarding changes in the management of outdoor recreation and environmental issues. On Monday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m. people can give their thoughts on advisory issues and vote for delegates at Chippewa Valley’s Technical College’s Business Education Center in the Casper Conference Center. The chairman of the Eau Claire County Conservation Congress, David Zielke, said this is the first time in three years the Spring Hearing will be held in person.
“This is a very exciting time,” Zielke said. “It is great to have these back in person. I remember when COVID came about, you know we often had meetings where we had in excess of 100 people here in Eau Claire County.”
Doors open at 6 p.m. before the meeting begins. Zielke said the meeting would tackle issues like a proposal by the DNR to be able to change rules on fishing regulations faster, the potential for outlawing live scan imaging used for fishing, and license increases.
