MIAMI (Gray News) – Authorities in Florida arrested a 21-year-old man for sex crimes involving children and animals.
The Miami Police Department’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) said Osher Joshua Pittman was rearrested on two counts of capital sexual battery involving the same minor victim, which they said was an infant about 2 to 3 months old.
The arrest took place after an ongoing investigation that began with Pittman’s original arrest for a similar offense against an 8-year-old child in a Miami neighborhood.
After the initial arrest, SVU detectives said they investigated a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Officials said the tip led to the discovery of child sexual abuse material found on Pittman’s cellphone and laptop, which resulted in additional charges and his arrest.
Detectives said they found more than 100 images depicting various instances of child sexual abuse, including bestiality.
Detectives said they reviewed four seized videos, uncovering evidence of “additional horrific acts” against a 3-month-old victim in what appeared to be Pittman’s bedroom. Officials said the victim is now 11 months old.
Officials said the videos were recorded between February and March of this year.
Detectives said they contacted the mother of the victim, who confirmed that the victim was her child and that the room seen in the videos was Pittman’s. The mother told police she would leave her child with Pittman’s mother from time to time when she had to work.
Authorities said Pittman now faces two counts of capital sexual battery, along with other charges, related to the 11-month-old victim.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information related to the case is urged to contact the Miami Police Department’s SVU at (305) 603-6300 or Crimes Stoppers of Miami-Dade & the Florida Keys anonymously at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
