Get ready for a night that’s all about second chances, wagging tails, and warm hearts. The Paws and Claws Humane Society 2025 Fall Auction promises an evening of laughter, bidding, and community spirit—all to help give local pets the loving homes they deserve.
When it comes to pets, the Land of 10,000 Lakes is in love with our furry friends. According to data from the Pet Advocacy Network, just over HALF of all households in Minnesota share their home with a pet:
According to the World Population Review. That data, from the 2020 U.S. Census, says Minnesota has a pet, good for a pet residence rate of 54 percent.

Percentage of households that have at least one pet: 54%
Percentage of MN households with at least one dog: 36%
Percentage of MN households with at least one cat: 27%
Overall, those 2.2 million households on average own around 2 pets. Unless it’s my household you’re talking about, seeing as my wife and I break the curve by sharing our home with three dogs and three cats, which is why I’m proud to help this great event by serving as your official emcee.
