CLEVELAND, Ohio – Banana Ball – the zany mashup brand of baseball and entertainment – is returning to Cleveland with a ticket lottery that is open this month.
Banana Ball is a general term for the brand of baseball made popular by the Savannah Bananas. The Bananas are not playing this coming year in Cleveland, but two of the teams in their league are – the Party Animals and the Indianapolis Clowns at Progressive Field on Sept. 25-26.
To secure a chance at attending, you can join the official 2026 Banana Ball ticket lottery by Friday, Oct. 31. The lottery system means that signing up sooner does not affect your chances — just make sure to sign up before the deadline. After the lottery closes, winners will be selected randomly, and if chosen, they’ll get an exclusive window to buy tickets to the hottest show in baseball.
The Savannah Bananas were founded in 2016 after minor league baseball left Savannah, Georgia. The team initially played in the Coastal Plain League, racking up three championships and more than 35 players drafted to professional ball.
In 2022, the Bananas shifted their focus solely to Banana Ball — a unique, fast-paced, entertainment-first take on baseball that now tours across North America. They evolved into a team using unique rules and dancing routines. To keep up with demand, the league unveiled its official competition, the Banana Ball Championship League.
As of 2026, the Banana Ball Championship League includes:
• Savannah Bananas
• Party Animals
• Texas Tailgaters
• Firefighters
• Loco Beach Coconuts
• Indianapolis Clowns
Each team has its own zany personality, prides itself on choreographed dances, celebratory stunts, and crowd participation — a hallmark of the league’s mission to make baseball an unmissable spectacle.
The last time the Savannah Bananas played in Cleveland was in August 2024, selling out Progressive Field in a pair of games. Before that, their show lit up Akron’s Canal Park on July 2-3, 2023.
