Gorham Rec hosts Fall Festival
Gorham Recreation Department is hosting a Fall Festival from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the gazebo, 75 South St.
Activities include pumpkin and face painting, cookie decorating, and a petting zoo with farm animals from FindView Farm. Other highlights are music, popcorn and lawn games.
Final fall brush drop-off
The Gorham Public Works Department is holding its second and final brush drop-off of the fall season from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the town garage, 80 Huston Road.
The opportunity is for Gorham residents only and commercial drop-off is not allowed. For more information, call Gorham Public Works at 222-4950.

Donate blood
The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive on Thursday, Oct. 16, at Cressey Road Christian Church, 81 Cressey Road, Gorham. To make an appointment, call the Red Cross at 1 800-482-0743.
5K raises $8,000 for food pantries
The Knights of Columbus at St. Anne’s Church hosted its third annual 5K road race on Oct. 11 at Shaw Cherry Hill Farm and reported that it raised $8,000 to benefit four local food pantries.
The money will be distributed to pantries in Gorham and Standish along with Buxton Food Co-op and Buxton Community Cupboard.
“We have successfully achieved our goal while providing a family-friendly event that highlights our parish, our organization, and the many generous businesses in our community,” a Knights posting on Saint Anthony of Padua Parish website says.
