CLARK COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – Two groups need your help to build a handicapped-accessible boardwalk in Clark County.
Sportsman Lake has had a handicapped-accessible dock for years, but it’s been hard to get to.
So, the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation and Clark County Land Conservation are looking to build a six-foot-wide walkway.
They would love for the work to be completed this fall before their permit from the DNR expires.
Their permit is good until the spring of 2026, but the ground is much softer that time of year, so they’re trying to get the work done sooner while the weather is more favorable.
ATV’s and UTV’s will not be allowed on the walkway. It will be meant for wheelchairs and scooters.
Eventually, repairs will also be made to the dock.
This Saturday at 9 a.m. the organizations are having a ‘raise the boardwalk event’ where they are asking the community’s help to physically build the walkway.
The groups have also already raised more than $3,000 of their $10,000 goal.
If you’d like to donate or let them know you’d like to help build the walkway, please contact Randy Teresinski with the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation at 715-897-8832 or email rjteresinski@gmail.com.
A meal will be provided to volunteers on Saturday, October 25th.
