CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Several animals died in a barn fire in Concord Township early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The Concord Township Fire Department responded around 5:30 a.m. to the fire on Hambden Road.
A detached barn was fully engulfed in flames. Officials said animals were believed to be inside the structure, including horses, chickens and cats, but the advanced stage of the fire made rescue efforts unsafe.
Despite extreme cold temperatures, crews brought the fire under control by about 6 a.m.
No injuries to people were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
