Charles Oliveira hasn’t been afraid to splash some of his earnings on things that he’s wanted for a long time.
The Brazilian’s incredible career in the UFC has seen him write his name into the promotion’s record books in several different areas.
His recent bounce back win, where Oliveira submitted Mateusz Gamrot this past weekend, only added to his already remarkable numbers.
He was already the record holder for the most post-fight bonuses in UFC history, before picking up another $50,000 at UFC Rio.
Earlier this year, the former lightweight champion gave his fans some insight into what he likes to spend this money on.
Charles Oliveira spent between $50-80,000 on two birds from Australia
Charles Oliveira’s track record for finishing opponents and putting on wild fights has seen him earn a huge amount of money from post-fight bonuses.
It seems highly likely that another bonus will be coming his way if Oliveira gets his wish to rematch Max Holloway in a clash for the BMF title.
While the 35-year-old has also used his success to benefit others, his $1,000,000 plus mansion in Guaruja, Brazil has been paid for by his accomplishments inside the Octagon.
Before his fight at UFC 317 earlier this year, Full Violence took a tour of Oliveira’s home, showcasing some of the incredible items that the Brazilian has picked up throughout his career.
Though the walls are decorated in photos and paintings of himself, outside, where he’s just a short distance away from Brazilian superstar Neymar’s home, is where one of the fighter’s biggest passions stays.
During the video, Oliveira spoke about how he spent a huge amount of money to own two Cacatua birds that he had to fly over from Australia, estimating that they cost him between $50-80,000.
“Since I was a kid, I dreamt of having these. It’s Cacatua. I have to have one but it costs a lot of money. I knew once I had the money for it, I’d get one, so now we got it.”
Charles Oliveira did seriously consider owning tigers at one point
After Charles Oliveira showed off the various birds that he looks after at his house, a reference was made to another fighter who was famous for owning exotic animals.
Mike Tyson’s tigers have become an iconic image associated with the legendary heavyweight boxer, even if his true passion is pigeons.
Oliveira revealed during the video that he was seriously considering getting some tigers for himself, but there were several issues with this.
“You can’t have them here… Some time ago, I have everything built in the farm to be able to have them, but man, they eat a lot. I made the stuff to be able to have them, but man, there’s no way you can have it. Like, I’m not around much, you know? I’d have to leave them to the responsibility of my parents, so I can’t.”
