MEDINA, Ohio – The Medina County SPCA is planning a fun evening out where participants can support local animals in need.
The 21st Annual Animal Affair will take place Friday, April 24 at Blue Heron Brewery and Event Center, 3227 Blue Heron Trace, Medina.
“Our fundraising goal is $70,000,” said Sarah Urquhart, director of operations at the Medina County SPCA. “This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Our maximum seating is 300 and we usually do sell out. We are always welcoming new sponsors.”
Sponsorship levels range from $100 to $5,000 and depending on the sponsorship level, sponsors receive benefits including tickets to the event, recognition in the event program, logos on the MCSPCA website and Facebook page and other special recognition during the event.
Tickets to the event are $70 each and include dinner. Anyone interested in attending can register at medinacountyspca.com/animal-affair before April 13. The website also includes information about sponsorship opportunities.
Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. with a live auction to follow.
“We are also accepting raffle baskets or gifts that can be auctioned off,” Urquhart said. “They can drop that off at our facility any time between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.”
The Medina County SPCA is located at 8790 Guilford Road in Seville.
While proceeds from Animal Affair will be used for general operations, Urquhart said the SPCA is also planning for a special project in the near future.
“We are hoping within the next year to put up another building on our site so we can have a separate building for cats and a separate building for dogs,” she said.
Urquhart said the SPCA will launch a capital campaign in the near future to help fund this endeavor.
