December is in full swing with holiday events galore. Christmas is in the air, and there is holiday music everywhere.
Saturday night was no exception. The Friends of Music Acadiana annual party on Dec. 6 drew a large crowd of UL Lafayette School of Music supporters and guests for Music and Merriment 2025.
The gala is a celebration of holiday music, but it is also a party with a purpose. Friends of Music Acadiana assists talented UL Lafayette music students by providing scholarships and performance competition awards that allow music students to continue their studies. It also raises awareness about the program for high school seniors who may be interested.
Music Director Shawn Roy and his students showed off that talent, performing many holiday favorites for the crowd. Guests enjoyed the mini concert surrounded by lovely Christmas decorations, holiday hors d’oeuvres, and drinks at the Piccione home in Lafayette.
We can’t say enough about how special this musical program is. It is indeed a worthy cause. Anyone who wants to show support can be a part of it.
