Tennessee football is returning to the Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl for the fourth time in 15 years to play Illinois at Nissan Stadium on Dec. 30 (4:30 p.m., ESPN).
The No. 23 Vols (8-4), from the SEC, last played in the Music City Bowl in 2021 when they lost to Purdue, 48-45, in overtime. Tennessee is 1-2 all-time in the Music City Bowl. Illinois (8-4), from the Big Ten, has never played in the Music City Bowl. The Fighting Illini finished seventh in the Big Ten standings.

Music City Bowl tickets for Tennessee vs. Illinois
A large crowd is expected at Nissan Stadium when Tennessee plays Illinois in the Music City Bowl. More than 69,000 fans showed up for each of Tennessee’s previous three appearances in the Music City Bowl.
