CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Greater Cleveland Aquarium welcomed its 3 millionth visitor this month after being a downtown entertainment destination for more than a decade.
The aquarium announced that on Friday, Nov. 21, a guest named Stacey R. was visitor number 3 million. In honor of the milestone, she and her family received special prizes for the honor — a three-year membership to the aquarium and an aquatic-themed gift shop basket worth $300.
“We love coming to the Aquarium because it’s local, easy to get to and a terrific activity on an overcast day like today,” Stacey R. said in a press release about her visit.
The Greater Cleveland Aquarium also made a commemorative social media post about the milestone, which included workers in scuba gear holding a fun sign underwater.
The aquarium is home to more than 3,500 fresh and saltwater animals, with new animals constantly being welcomed into the space.
This holiday season, the Greater Cleveland Aquarium will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, 2026.
